This post is a bit late but last Sunday, I took my in-laws up to a very cute village called Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne a gorgeous village originating from the 9th century.
We sat in the village square with a cold beer in hand and enjoyed the views. It was charming, come and take a look at the village through my eyes.
I think I have finally caught up with my sleep after a wonderful week in Boston with my friend of 30 years. As you can imagine, not having seen each other for a full year, we had a lot to catch up on and I can't tell you how much we laughed! Isn't it fantastic girls, to just hang out with a really good girlfriend?
My husband was fantastic for flying out from Nigeria to spend time with the children so that I could enjoy 5 days of me time, love him so!!
For all you lovely ladies this glorious monday morning. I hope you all have a fabulous week ahead, remember every challenge that comes your way this week gives you a wealth of experience for life's next lesson. Be strong, be brave, be inspirational.
I am so excited to have so many new friends that I want to have a give-away to celebrate and I think I have the perfect gift. Whilst at a fleamarket recently, I managed to find a copy of 'L'illustration Journal Universal' dated 9th September 1911. This is the french version of an illustrated newspaper.
I've been pondering this thought all week. Since wooden pallets have come into my mindspace, all I keep seeing are pallets piled high next to the garbage, on the side of the road, outside warehouses all with the same fate in mind, being disposed of.
What if though, these freebies which seem to be everywhere I look these days, could be put to better use? What if we could recycle, upcycle and even remodel them to become part of our daily lives?
I'm so excited, I have been working away all week and have something to show you,
as you know I bought this gorgeous french dresser and after hearing about Annie Sloan paints, I found a wonderful supplier right here in France, Les Couronnes Sauvages . Claire was an absolute star and gave me some wonderful advice, as a self confessed chalkaholic, she knew I would be hooked once I got my hands of this product. 2 days after placing my order, I took delivery of several pots of paints, brushes and waxes and in no time I all, I was painting away.
Welcome to my vintage life where I am living my dream renovating an old stone villa in the hills of Grasse, spending my time scouring the local flea-markets finding all things old, vintage and shabby to give this little old house a soul.
Here is a snap shop of my garden where I have big plans to grow as much home grown produce as possible, a place where the children can learn and experience hand's on where their food is coming from and I can learn to live with the land.
