It was during one of my frequent trips to Nice in 2009 to find contractors for the renovation work on our villa that the first seed of blogging was planted. I happened upon the movie 'Julie and Julia' and thought this could be something I could do to log my journey. But you know how it is, life takes over and I didn't give it a second thought until I was at a friends birthday party in Dubai. During the evening I was asked by several people; what made me take the decision to move to France, what were my plans on arrival, how about settling into a new country, the progress of the renovations and then one lady said 'why don't you start a blog so that we can all follow you?' On the way home in the taxi I decided to give it a shot.
So here I am, blindly navigating through the corridors of blogging and learning something new every day about the power and technology of the internet.
This blog is about our decision as a family to take our lives into our own hands and make a call. We chose France for many reasons knowing that it would mean that PapaB would have to work away from home but having looked at our options, several times, we know in our hearts that this is the right decision for us.
I will be sharing with you my experiences of moving to a new country, renovating the house, coming to terms with a new language and learning how to be a little self sufficient by growing my own vegetables, raising chickens and much more.
