So let me tell you a little about myself;
I have been on this planet for 48 years during which time I have experienced much, most of it brilliant, some of it not, but all of it has made me who I am today.
During my travels I have met some wonderful people who have become part of my life and even though we may have moved on, they are always in my heart and mind. I'm have five amazing children who fill my life on a daily basis with love, laughter and new experiences and my husband of 19 years still makes my heart sing.
I love a challenge, work well under pressure and I want to be sitting in my rocking chair at the end of my days, looking back on my life in awe and wonderment at all the experiences I have had. I hope my regrets will be few and I don't want to ponder on 'what if.....' or 'I wish I had ...'.
I have travelled to many parts of the globe and lived as an expat for the past 23 years in Dubai, Oman, Cyprus and the UK before settling in France July 2010.
I have vowed never to buy a new piece of furniture again choosing instead to upcycle. I have a passion for fleamarkets and get up every Sunday (and ever other opportunity I can take) to mooch around searching for interesting bits of furniture and goodies to make this house a home. I love interior design and you will often finding me searching through my ever increasing pile of magazine for inspiration.
Our home is always full of love, usually full of laughter and always full of activity! It's a rare and savoured moment if the house is empty and quiet. I feel like I'm running a restaurant and feeding the village as my kids are always hungry and the fridge door is the most frequently used in the house. Dinner is a favourite time for me where we get to share our experiences of the day and where the conversations are always animated and varied.
This blog is about my expat life, living in France, following my dreams and my heart, renovating our 70's stone villa in the hills of Grasse, loving vintage, shabby chic decore and a new chapter in my life as I settle back in Europe after many years living in the deserts of Arabia . I am so excited about the possibilities ahead. My ambition is to blog my way through the next few years sharing with you my experiences, my trials and tribulations. I love a challenge, work well under pressure and I want to be sitting in my rocking chair at the end of my days, looking back on my life in awe and wonderment at all the experiences I have had. I hope my regrets will be few and I don't want to ponder on 'what if.....' or 'I wish I had ...'.
This blog is a'scrapbook' of my life.
