Today Grasse was abuzz and there was a scent in the air, it was the first day of Expo Rose, an annual event that is in it's 42nd year and what a wonderful event it was, come and have a look.
Our first port of call was Palais des Congres where there was an expoSITION based on roses and fashion. Take a look at what we found....
Lets not forget though that this is all about the roses. Every morning when I take the children to school, I cut through a little hilltop village called Plascassier and there is a small holding where roses are grown for the large perfume houses. As the roses are now in bloom, the landowner is often out tending to his roses, it's such a beautiful sight first thing in the morning. I'm not sure which rose he grows but here are some of the gorgeous flowers that were on show today.
I absolutely love roses but never choose to buy them as they seem to only last for 5 minutes when cut. I do however really want to buy a rose bush because they look spectacular don't you think? I would love to know the name of the roses pictured if any of you lovely people know.
I could go on forever posting photographs of roses as they are real eye candy for the soul but it was a real testament to the rose and there were some wonderful stall-holders sharing their love of the rose in their own way.
My mind is made up, I'm going first thing in the morning to buy an addition to my rose garden like these luck people
