Well I stripped it down Found that it was stuffed with horse hair, although my teens didn't believe a word!
I primed it and couldn't have asked for a better workshop, yes, that is a glass of chablis that you can see on the side, it helps when working in this climate!
Then a couple of coats of 'peinture a l'ancienne'
It's really chic, now I have to make it shabby. I've had one attempt but not too happy with it, picture not shown ;). What do you think, should I leave it like it is or distress it?

Keeping things simple and not overworking them is always a good thing. I must admit though that the view from your balcony is better than any chair!!

Im starting to like this colour too and perhaps once I add the top coat of Cire Teintee, a type of satin wax together with a fabulous fabric? The other thing is, should I replace the
padding at the back of the chair as I have seen several in antique stores that are left as it is now?
One thing of sure Alison, its a different chair to the one Ibought and still a bargain at five Euros dont you think.
